PAPER QR BASED MULTIPLE TICKETS o­n SINGLE TRANSACTION INTRODUCED IN PURPLE LINE OF METRO RAILWAY KOLKATA FROM 28/02/25

Good News for Metro commuters!!

After Blue Line, Green Line-1 & 2 and Orange Line, Paper QR based multiple ticketing facility in a single transaction has been also introduced in Purple Line from today afternoon i.e. 28.02.2025.

Maximum 7 paper based QR tickets can be purchased o­n a single transaction by paying the requisite fare through cash or UPI mode of payment at the booking counters by any commuter. So far, o­nly o­ne single paper based QR ticket could be purchased at a time by any commuter.

It has been noticed that the waiting time and Queue length at the booking counters have been considerably reduced o­n introduction of multiple QR paper tickets today. Commuters are overjoyed after availing the new facility.

It is to be noted that this facility has been introduced at all the stations of Blue Line, Green Line-1 & 2 and Orange Line from today much to the delight of Metro commuters. Welcoming this move taken by the Metro authorities, commuters have started purchasing multiple paper based QR tickets at the counters.

The digital transaction of Metro Railway has already crossed 30% of the total transaction and same trend is continuing in the current month also. With this new initiative and active co-operation of commuters this transaction system is expected to gain more popularity in the coming days. Passengers are requested to adopt digital transactions and also buy tickets o­nline before reaching the Metro station to avoid rush due to long queues at booking counters particularly during the peak hours.
