MORE THAN 10.39 LAKH ANDROID AND 58000 iOS USERS DOWNLOADED ‘METRO RIDE KOLKATA’ APP

‘Metro Ride Kolkata App’ has touched another milestone with its increasing popularity! More than 10.39 lakh Android and more than 58000 iOS users have downloaded this App so far.
This App, developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), has been a hit among the users since its inception. This App has enabled Metro commuters to recharge their Smart Cards or book QR Code Based tickets anytime from anywhere. For the benefit of the commuters, ‘Metro Ride Kolkata’ App was launched on 05.03.2022 on Android platform and on 22.03.2024 on iOS platform.
Till 23.02.2025, more than 10.39 lakh Android users have downloaded this App from Google Play Store and more than 58000 iOS users have also downloaded this App from Apple Store. These figures signify the acceptability and popularity of this App among the Metro users. Metro staff have also been helping passengers to download this App from Google Play Store and Apple Store and showing them the procedure to use it at different stations.
During the last month, Metro Railway has set a milestone by crossing its digital transaction more than 30% in the month. Passengers are requested to adopt digital transactions and also buy tickets online before reaching the Metro station to avoid rush due to long queues at booking counters particularly during the peak hours.
It is to be noted that from 26th January,2025, a feature was enabled for all the users of this App to get regular notification on Metro services like introduction of new services, special services, changes in frequency of services as well as disruption of services.
