AN EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT INAUGURATED IN NOAPARA

 

Kolkata, Date: 23.01.2025

An Effluent Treatment Plant was inaugurated at Noapara Carshed today i.e. 23.01.2025.This plant having capacity to treat and clean 5 Cubic Meter per hour industrial polluted water was inaugurated by Shri Kuntal Mitra, Sr. Tech in the presence of Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway and other senior officers.Apart from this, a 33 KV DC Traction Sub-Station having 15 MW DC Traction Capacity was also inaugurated in presence of Shri Reddy by Shri Gopal Majumdar Sr. Tech.The capacity of this Traction Sub-Station is highest in India which would provide power to trains and other electrical systems.

 

Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway also laid the foundation stone of a 7.5 MW Solar Plant at Noapara Carshed. This Power Plant will help to reduce carbon footprint by 3750 Metric Ton in presence of senior officers of Metro Railway, Smt. P Sreelatha, President and other members of MRWWO. It is to be noted that Indian Railways has taken up the mission to become Net Zero Carbon Emitter by 2030.This Power Plant at Noapara o­nce commissioned would help to contribute to achieve this target.

 

General Manager also participated in a Tree Plantation Drive along with senior officers of Metro Railway and President and other Members of MRWWO. In this Tree Plantation, Coconut, Shisham, Supari, Tamarind and other saplings were planted.
