SWACHH BHARAT DIVAS OBSERVED IN METRO RAILWAY

Kolkata, Date: 02.10.2024

As a part of observing Swachhta Hi Seva campaign and birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji, Swachh Bharat Divas was observed at Mahatma Gandhi Road Metro station today i.e. o­n 02.10.2024. Shri Lakheswar Saikia, Principal Chief Operations Manager, other senior officials and staff of Metro Railway offered Shramdan at that station to mark the day. They requested all the Metro users to help to keep the Metro premises clean. They also explained the importance of cleanliness to the Metro users.

Banners and posters were o­n display to spread the message of Swacchta at all Metro stations. Repeated announcements were made through Public Address System to create awareness among the passengers about the importance of cleanliness in our life.

A Public Awareness Workshop was also organized at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Metro station to make passengers aware about Swachhta.

Shri Amitava Dutta, Principal Chief Medical Officer, other medical officers and staff of Tapan Sinha Memorial Hospital offered Shramdan, as a part of observing Swachh Bharat Divas today.
