Kolkata, Date: 16.09.2024
After successful implementation of five “No Booking Counter Station” in Purple and Orange Line, Kolkata Metro is going to introduce one more “No Booking Counter Station” in Purple Line from 17.09.2024 (Tuesday). The station is Behala Chowrasta Metro station. The average daily passenger count at Behala Chowrasta Metro station has been around 124.
As the passenger count has been very low, Metro Railway authorities have decided to make this station as “No Booking Counter Station” from 17.09.2024. In this station no booking counter will remain open for issuing tokens, new Smart Cards or recharging Smart Cards from that day and no booking staff will be present. Instead, passengers will purchase their tokens, Smart Cards, Paper QR Code Based Tickets from Automatic Smart Card Recharge Machines (ASCRM). They can also recharge their Smart Cards from these machines. For this reason, ASCRM machines have already been installed at this station. It is to be noted that these user-friendly ASCRM machines are going to enhance the travelling experience in Kolkata Metro. Passengers can also opt for UPI payment based ticketing systems in these ASCRMs.
Kolkata Metro solicits help and co-operation from all the stakeholders to make this a success.
